Explore the story of aris moore, an artist whose journey from houston to exeter has profoundly shaped her connection to art and teaching. We recently sat down with aris moore, who will be part of our upcoming show the familiars along with haley wood, to discuss her artistic practice, her inspiration and her teaching trajectory that led her to become a full time artist. Creative writing student at pacific lutheran university · experience: Aris moore graduated with her bfa in painting and drawing from montserrat college of art in beverly, ma in 1998.
Now she teaches private art lessons to people of all ages. Aris moore uses unconventional portraiture to render very human feelings and concepts into a series of anthropomorphic beings, whose expressions, body language and endearing awkwardness capture the complexity of what it is to experience humanity.
